The annual volume of crypto donations jumped from $4.2 million in 2020 to $69.6 million in 2021, an increase of 1,558%, according to the annual report by The Giving Block. The average crypto donation was $10,455, up 236% from $3,109 in 2020. Moreover, NFT philanthropy emerged, with more than $12.3 million donated from verifiable NFT projects, artists, and platforms. The main driver for growth is the diversification of crypto ventures impacting various sectors of crypto giving (i.e., The Giving Block as a donation/payment gateway, Seva Love as a platform for social good enabling artists, Women Rise philanthropy through the sale of NFT to empower women).

Crypto & NFT projects are vastly diversified, however, a recent trend of crypto ventures for social impact is emerging. From funding important scientific research to donating to humanitarian causes, crypto ventures for social impact can be the ecosystem that revolutionises the way of giving.

At Cherubs DAO, we have curated a list of active crypto ventures for social impact and causes. We have gathered multiple projects and plotted them on a graph to represent their positioning as a Web2 vs. Web3 crypto venture and their offering in terms of infrastructure vs. product/app. This list will be updated on a regular basis to highlight important projects that are doing good in the world.
