RNS(RSS3 Naming Service)
English Version
An interesting observation: "domain names" have become a good incentive for users in web3
Mirror rewards "WRITE" tokens to those who write good articles in the community and get selected.
RSS3 gives PASS coins to outstanding volunteers in the community, the same as "WRITE coins", which also have no financial properties, and after burning it, you can get an RNS (RSS3 Naming Service)
Why can "domain name" attract users and thus become a rewarding tool?
The domain name represents identity, representing "I have contributed to this community", and "unusual identity" is a basic tool in all community operations. Traditional Internet communities also have such operational tools. (e.g. player ranking, big V)
From the operation point of view, as the identity symbol should be motivating enough, there is a premise that the symbol itself will be naturally expressed all the time. This is something that an ordinary NFT cannot do. For content platforms (RSS3 and Mirror are content-related), the domain name is a typical example of "as long as I read your articles, I will find you have a second-level domain name".
Even if I bought the ENS domain name with money after I bought it, I also had a lot of fun with my friends casting screens (for example, OpenSea automatically showed xxx. eth after logging in), so this kind of rewarded domain name should be more attractive to users and can increase the sense of belonging to the community.
What are the differences between Web3's identity rewards and Web2's identity rewards, or what are the advancements?
The main thing that comes to mind is that the identity is on the chain, so it is easy to tie in with the subsequent economic rules on the chain. (Such as Stacking this mechanism)
In addition, if the NFT contract‘s Transfer interface is open, then the identity can also be sold. (similar to the traditional feudal era to pay for noble status), the economic value and honor linked together.
Similar to 1, subsequent airdrops can also be judged by this "identity". (It is also considered a special means of on-chain operation)
