It’s been a busy last few quarters in Web3 with developments happening at lightspeed, 24 hours a day. One of the hardest parts of collecting NFTs and remaining active in a community is keeping up with the latest updates from your favourite projects. It’s easy to feel lost after a short break from Twitter and Discord and the dynamic nature of Web3 can also be a huge drain on one’s mental and emotional bandwidth.
With that in mind, the Smolverse team has been considering how else we can help keep the vibes strong on the daily. We want to provide another source of information the community can use to stay up to speed with major announcements and insights into what we’re working on. We feel the best way to do that is by marrying the hard work from our community on Discord, Twitter and Smol Halls with a more active Smol Team Blog.
We’re constantly evaluating our communication strategy and we feel the investment here will help support our community by making things more manageable for folks who may need to unplug from time to time.
Don’t expect things to change on your existing Smol channels. Announcements on Discord will line up with our Blog, Twitter will likewise continue to be an accurate information source, but expect to see more posts from the team that delve a little deeper into what we’re doing and serve as a compliment to our Discord and Twitter announcements.
We’d be remiss not to mention some of the limits of blogging. One of those being the lack of interactivity compared to Discord, Twitter and Spaces. This can lead to ambiguity, which can be a double edged sword. It creates excitement but can also lead to speculation and our goal is to make things more transparent, not less. So, we think it’s important to lay out some guidelines for our readers:
Nothing relayed through our blog, Discord or any of our socials is financial advice
No one should speculate or make financial decisions based upon what they read on our channels
Ideas for future development, both narratively and technologically, could change over time as plans are refined
Our posts on this channel represent the Smol Team
We welcome questions about our blog and insights from the community through our other channels like Smol Halls or Discord
Creativity is at the core of what we do and part of that creativity lies in having the artistic freedom to build a world and tell stories about the Smols. Certain things in those stories may have broader implications for the Smols, while others may just be a self-contained, discreet, piece of creative narrative. We ask that our community engage us as they try and decipher what content has broader implications rather than speculating on their own.
Our goal and intent is to continue making keeping up with the Smols easier for everyone while providing more transparency and access to our community.
