Life is always about presence — being here, right now.
It’s about savoring not only the ephemeral beauty of the inner world, but also the tangible pleasures.
My life would feel incomplete if it held only creativity.
So, while my beloved lighthouse keeper was busy restoring the beacon and the children were off at the School Around the Corner, I’d just finished a new fairytale (and received a generous payment for it), and decided to wander gently through Joy Meadow.
It turned out to be the most delightful, varied meadow one could imagine. Every street, every turn offered something to uplift and inspire.
At the market, I filled my basket with fresh fruits and berries. In the little The Shop of Always-Just-Right Attire, I found a perfect dress. I noted the weekend event schedule and jotted down the workshops I wanted to join.
I was simply enjoying it all — the charm of every weathered door, crooked window, and tiled roof. I soaked in the lovely vibrations of the shops and studios, each one created with such care, love, and just a hint of magic.
I already knew I’d return again and again — to fill my days with beautiful emotions.
Because life isn’t just about creativity, home-making, children, or love.
Life is also about feeling — bright, breathtaking emotions.
And thankfully, there are places that promise them with joy.
