An out-of-tune guitar, with broken strings,
rusting alone in the pits of obscurity, cries out loud, an eerie song of dismal grief.
The soul of it, unable to charm, unable to resonate with the divine harmony, lies silent, helpless - listening to that song of a morbid whimper.
My mind, out-of-sync, with broken dreams, decaying alone in the depths of reality, heard that song, and resonates with its discordant sounds.
My heart, exhausted, unable to survive, unable to carry the embittered mind, lies low, depressed, listening to the echoes of my broken thoughts.
The eternal soul, dancing through the ages,
absorbing all of life's magic and madness,
heard my yearning and whispered to my broken heart -
"Rise up my beloved, rise up and dance to this sober tone, for you are me imprisoned in this human flesh, and through you, I'll live a whole new world, I'll see the darkness of the clouds and the rainbow after the showers. I'll hear the butcher's roar and the nightingale's song, I'll send you joy from heaven and despair from hell, I'll break you down into a thousand fragments, and mend you back with an iron molded cast. With thoughts of greed and the warmth of love, I'll enchant the mind to play like a clown. But as long as you beat in this divine body, witness this play and dance to its tunes"
My sunken heart, rejoiced at that heavenly declaration,
started to dance to that eerie song.
Seasons changed; autumn came with the whistling of the leaves,
monsoon came with the sounds of the storms,
spring came with the songs of the bees, and summer came trembling on its knees.
But my heart kept dancing through them all.
It danced and danced and danced, until the beats dropped dead and I lay still.
Then I flew back home,
and greeted the divine mother-
she laid open the book of the ages and asked me to write a verse, and I wrote in there - 'Love is alive'
