In January I started Beings Club, something I’ve been calling ‘a curiosity social club.’

Whilst that is a good way to describe it, it also feels like a place.

Here are some thoughts about that place:

An empty canvas is a gift. A shared adventure is joy.
Every week, we gather to take time for ourselves and to meet one another. The Salon each Sunday begins at 8pm UTC and is opened with time to be intentional with a self-chosen practice. Following, members meet either 1:1 or in groups of 3. There are no conversation prompts, there are no weekly themes, and there is nothing to do except stay curious.

The things worth caring about make themselves known.
Conversations develop in their own way and last for 30 minutes. Each room is a unique combination of experience and intention. What unfolds is unplanned, ordinary, and sometimes magic. Topics, pauses, and new questions arise on their own with curiosity.

We are the space in which discovery happens.
What each participant brings to the space is their own. What comes through being ourselves is more than we could plan into being. Developments that occur naturally in conversation lead to a natural development of who we see ourselves to be.

Mutual care is a commitment to reduce harm.
Everybody brings with them a life of depth and richness that we can never fully see into that makes them who they are. People change and in allowing change we discover our own innate capacity to care. By caring, we create and refine in ways that are generative over time.

Discovery is a process not an outcome.
We don’t know what will happen, we never do, all we can do is show up. Beautiful things of all kinds have been born of quiet moments with ourselves and interesting exchanges. Every moment is different and so is every meeting.

Beings Club has been on a break since our initial 3-month Season Zero.

Now, we’re preparing to re-start the adventure.

To kick off, we’re having an Open Salon on May 18th, open-to-all and entirely free.
