Not every wallet is created equal. A handful of wallets currently let you control your privacy and data by allowing you to change the Remote Procedure Call (RPC). Metamask and Infura stirred up alot of controversy last year with the collecting of personal data. Let’s start with the how the process works.

How to use a MetaMask extension to add pre-existing networks to your wallet as a secondary endpoint. This allows users to configure their wallets to access Ethereum clients in networks using custom RPC endpoints. This is very efficient for light clients, as it enables them to quickly retrieve necessary data from the blockchain and give access through the interface. Trust Wallet also has recently released a new Helios Light Client which allows users to configure their own custom networks. This makes it very easy for users to use Trust Wallet with their own custom RPC endpoints. Additionally, they can also sync with other wallets using the same RPC API interface as well. This makes Trust Wallet a great option for those who need to access multiple networks using different RPC endpoints.
MetaMask users can change the RPC endpoints used by MetaMask from its default settings. This is useful for those who do not want their data to be collected by a third party such as Metamask Developer Consensys or Infura. Ethereum wallet users can also change the RPC endpoints they use, allowing them to update the wallet address they are connected to without mentioning their IP address. By changing the RPC endpoints, users can make sure that their data is not shared with any other entity and that only transactions performed directly from their computer are sent over the internet. This provides an additional layer of privacy for its users and ensures that no IP address is associated with any transaction made from the wallet.
By changing your default RPC provider in Metamask, you can stop Metamask from collecting your IP address and revealing it in your transactions. This will ensure that your transaction data is kept secure and anonymous.

If you are a MetaMask wallet owner and you don’t like the recent privacy policy update, you can consider one of the following alternatives:
Create your own Node
Invest in a reliable paid VPN service provider to hide your IP address
Switch RPCs deafault in your current wallet
Find another wallet service provider with customizable RPC Endpoints
Here are some wallets which allow you to change your RPC Endpoints
