*After collaborating closely with the Optimism team for months, Superchain Eco is proud to launch The Superchain Index, the official index of the chains in the Superchain Ecosystem pulled from the Superchain Registry to provide a source of truth for who is in the Superchain Ecosystem and what modifications are made to chains.*
Since launching the Superchain Eco platform, we have been asked the same question countless times: “Who’s part of the Superchain Ecosystem?” The Superchain Index provides the best answer to this question!
The Superchain Index visualizes the information of the Superchain Registry, the source of truth for OP Chains' configuration, security, and policy choices. It provides a unified snapshot of all OP Chains. The registry lists which chains exist, their block space configurations, and whether they align with a Blockspace Charter (or not). This information helps users and developers understand the security and performance properties of different chains in the Superchain and provides insight into the commitments and control structures.
OP chains are categorized into three ways based on their configuration, as specified in the Superchain Registry. Below is an overview of the current possible states an OP Chain can have.
🟢 Green: This chain fully meets the Standard Rollup Charter, is on the latest governance-approved OP Stack version, and its bridge upgradability is managed by the Optimism Security Council.
🟡Yellow: This chain has a Standard configuration but is still finishing final upgrades or Security Council migration.
⚫ Gray: An OP Stack chain on an older version or one that deviates from the standard config but still supports the ecosystem and contributes revenue.
The state of a chain is essential, as only green and yellow chains make up the “Superchain”: these chains share security, governance, and values under the OP Stack. They are on the path to full interoperability and are “built on the Superchain.”
Gray chains remain an essential part of the Superchain Ecosystem as they continue contributing revenue to the Collective. They can become green (or yellow) by gradually aligning with the standard OP Stack and Security Council requirements.
Season 7 of OP Governance focuses on Interoperability and bringing OP-governed chains together using a shared standard. To support this vision, OP incentives for Season 7 will only go to chains on a standard, governance-approved release of the OP Stack that have opted into the Security Council (or are on track).
Looking ahead to Season 8, additional requirements, like meeting economic thresholds and using the OP Deployer, may exist.
The goal will continue to keep the ecosystem OP-governed while rewarding those driving interoperability.
Any chain that is not yet listed on the Superchain Registry can get started here.

OnChain Indicators of Engaged DAO Voters
Summary:Engaged governance participants were identified as the top 25% of governance voters ranked by voting frequency. Several onchain actions set engaged governance participants apart from the rest, most importantly voting frequency, number of votes, and number of delegates pledged to the participant. Other indicators of engaged governance participants include ENS registrations and the number of decentralized exchange (DEX) trades and NFT activity within the last 60 days.IntroThis research ...
