Hey there folks!
Here’s a quick walkthrough of Salsa.me, a web3 social app, that lets you connect and interact with like minded people in the most private setting possible through POAPs. It also allows you to post publicly on-chain in a not so tech-savvy setup!
The app is available for both Android and Apple, and can be downloaded for free. A wallet address or ENS domain is required to sign-up.

On signing up, you’re taken to an “Explore” page that shows a list of all salsa.me registered users, and you can choose to chat with them privately. There are useful filters that help you distinguish users who follow you, whom you follow, and the ones with whom you have connected.

To help users recognize and connect with others better, they are given an option of creating POAPs for other users to collect, and improve communication.
For eg: You can create a POAP marking your attendance at ETH Denver, and other folks who missed out on meeting you IRL, can collect your POAP, and you can reminisce on your experience over DM. Now doesn’t that sound like a perfect icebreaker?

Moving on, users can also post publicly, by posting to the public feed of salsa.me. Their post is stored on-chain, and it can be viewed by anyone using the platform.
Currently, from my observation, there are no options for monetization on the platform, but potential monetization options could be:
Premium subscriptions, that provide exclusive features. For eg: Offer an additional feature for users to monetize their content. Can be done through transforming content to NFTs just like Mirror.
Salsa.me can help web3 projects run promoted posts that are boosted to specific users depending on wallet activity. For eg: A Defi protocol that wishes to promote itself can do so, by targeting users that spend time transacting on Uniswap, Curve Finance etc.
Create social sign-ups, and allow traditional social media users to try their hand at salsa.me. There are platforms that help create wallet addresses through email logins and 2-FA.
Allow users to display NFTs they own in their profile, and enable them to create NFT gated communities to chat with other holders.
Enable searches for POAPs to help identify and connect users better.
This marks the end of a quick walkthrough of Salsa, which I believe, will make its mark in the DeSo space. Looking forward to seeing more such apps disrupt social media.
Thanks for taking the time to read till the end, really appreciate it!
