How to find Crypto Alpha using RSS ?

In today's world of endless news, trying to achieve a high level of control over information is an extremely difficult task. Especially in the cryptocurrency industry, we not only need to look at Twitter, YouTube, Medium and Substack to track the latest progress of the industry; we also need to check the on-chain data to track the progress of whales' transactions.

In short, information in the cryptocurrency world means a large degree of revenue and profit. If you can effectively control the information or make trading decisions in advance of others who have not yet gotten the news, the cumulative revenue we can make over the years will be very substantial.

The data on chain is easy to explore and discover, and there are many tools in the crypto world that process these data and sell them to us as SAAS services, such as Nansen or Dune Analytics, but there are no timely and accurate tools for us to use for other news releases.

In this article, I will.

  • Explain what is RSS?

  • How do we get RSS feeds?

  • What are the good RSS software? (Android/Apple/Windows)

  • Share my own personal RSS feeds

1. What is RSS?

RSS Connect everything!
RSS Connect everything!

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) aggregates content from multiple websites and automatically notifies website subscribers of updates. RSS eliminates the need for subscribers to manually check the website for new content, and it consolidates content from multiple websites and presents it in a summary format, helping subscribers to quickly access important information and selectively click through to view it.

In short, RSS bridges the information gap between different applications on multiple websites and presents the information in front of us in a kind of briefing. With RSS software and the feeds you want to subscribe to, you will no longer be stuck in the predicament of being dictated by an algorithm, and you will experience being treated like the "president of the country", with the daily newsletters submitted by your "subordinates" to keep track of all the news you want.

After all these amazing features of RSS, let's talk about how we can get RSS feeds?

2.How do we get RSS feeds?

RSS have its own special format, and if they have not undergone any software compilation, they would look like this.

Such an XML format is a common RSS format, and as soon as we obtain a file in this format and subscribe it to our software, we will receive constant alerts from the website. So how should we get these subscription feeds?

  • First you need to download Google Chrome.

  • Search for the plugin we want in the plugin store in the browser

    Rss Radar

This plugin has a lot of benefits, once you install the plugin you can automatically sniff any RSS feed on the web and even subscribe to basically all social media like Twitter, YouTube and even Telegram channels, not to mention regular websites.

After a simple installation, we can see all the subscription sources very intuitively, click on subscribe and copy it into the software to receive the push directly, and you can sort the messages according to any specific message to get the message.

Violentmonkey

Violentmonkey has more than just RSS subscriptions, but we won't go into that here. After installing the plugin, we go to the website Greasy Fork and search for the script. Search for RSS and click on this page to install "RSS+ : Show all RSS from the current site". Once installed, go to the site you want to see and you will see a function to add RSS to the specified software in the bottom right corner.

3 . What are some good RSS software?

Feedly has a nice UI for people who are more concerned about appearance charges; also has some special features of its own.

Inoreader supports Chinese, UX is not bad; charges, also has some very good features.

Feedbro So far, I think it's the best software! The advantages are simply that it is completely free, supports some simple rules and four different themes, and you can import unlimited OPML files, which means you are not constrained by the number of subscriptions.

Some of the other software also have their own good, but I think the above three are considered more iconic software, and perfectly adequate, if you have a better choice remember to tell me, together we will make Guide better!

4.RSS feeds sharing

An RSS feed is an OPML file that someone else has classified for you, or there are other formats, but most software basically supports the OPML format.

This is a relatively comprehensive collection of RSS information about the cryptocurrency world, and the classification is also good, but some information I think is too surplus, so I removed some, you can classify it according to your own preferences.

2.@zlexdl.eth's Mirror author list

This one mainly focuses on some articles on Mirror, which is also quite comprehensive, but you need to filter some two low quality articles by yourself.

3.My feeds.

My Rss feeds
My Rss feeds

I have combined the above two sources, and also added some other sources that I usually use; but also contains information other than the crypto space, so you can directly download it here. I also put the above two into Opml files in the repository, so you can download them directly from the Github repository.

In addition, Mirror has released the function of one-click publishing article NFT, you can directly buy my article through 0.005ETH. And through this way to complete the interaction with Mirror and Opitimism at the same time ~ thanks for your support!
