Over a month ago, a came across a game called Raid: Shadow Legends. It is a free-to-play, fantasy RPG game with options to paly on your Phone or PC. So I decided to give it a shot and after 40 days of game play, I can tell you that it is definitely worth giving it a chance.
Players can collect a number of Champions to tackle the different game modes of Raid, including its Campaign, Clan Bosses, Arena and few others. The game's story takes place in the fictional realm of Teleria, which has been overtaken by a Dark Lord named Siroth. And players use their champion warriors to defeat the Dark Lord and restore peace in Teleria.
When starting this game, you will first choose a Rare champion out of four fallen champions. You can then increase their stats by playing the campaign, simultaneously gaining other champions as a reward and ultimately defeating Siroth. You will also be able to get additional rewards when starting the game if you use a referral code.
The four rare champions you choose form are Kael, Elhain, Athel and Galek. They all have different stats and different skills that are very valuable throughout the game. I started with Kael, he is a champion from the Dark Elves faction with unique skill of poisoning opponents and so far, he didn't disappoint. After checking some reviews on YouTube, Kael, Elhain and Athel are all great to start the game with but nobody is recommending Galek so I advice you to stay away from him.
There are many ways to get new champions, aside of your starting champions, your will be rewarded new champions when progressing through the levels in the Campaign Mode.
You will also receive new champions from logging-in everyday. Plus, there are continuous events that also reward great champions.
In addition, "Shards" can be used to summon new champion.
The greatness of the champion you get when using shards depends on the type of shards you use. You can see the chart below to find out the probability of the type of champion you get with the perspective shard.
There are different game modes you can choose from when playing Raid:
Campaign: This is where you play and follow the whole story of the game.
Dungeons: This is where you battle with mini-bosses to earn some Artifacts which you can use to support and build you champions.
Faction Wars: Each champions belong to different Factions, and this is where your champions from the same Factions battle with bosses to earn "Glyphs", which can be used to enchant your Artifacts.
Arena: This is where you battle with other player. You choose four of your best champions to defend against and attack other players' champions while earning additional rewards from different tournaments.
Clan Bosses: This is where you join a clan and battle to win unique rewards. Make sure to join a good clan with good players because your rewards depend on the overall performance of the clan.
Raid: Shadow Legends is definitely a fun game to tryout, specially if you are looking for a game that can be played both on your PC and phone. The PC requirements are only a 2GB RAM and a 5GB hard disk space so most people can play it with no problem. Playing with other Raid players in Clan Bosses or Arena can also be very fun and a wonderful challenge.
