TLX Council Elections are back for their second Epoch! Council Elections for the second Epoch can be summarized by the following points:
Nominations for TLX Council seats will open on Aug. 20th
Users can submit their nomination until Aug. 29th
Voting will begin on Aug. 30th (Snapshot) and conclude on Sep. 8th
Any user can submit a proposal for nomination on Discord
TLX employs several governing bodies that oversee the maintenance and improvement of the TLX protocol. These governing bodies are referred to as councils. While each takes on a specific role, councils work together to fulfill governance responsibilities. There are 3 different councils that make up the TLX council structure:
Tabby Council (5 seats)
The Tabby Council is the central governing body of the TLX protocol. The Tabby Council votes on overall improvement proposals and parameter changes.
Ecosystem Council (2 Seats)
The Ecosystem Council represents the interests of the TLX community and ensures alignment is maintained with other projects in the Optimism and Synthetix ecosystem.
Intern Council (3 seats)
The Intern Council represents the TLX community's fine taste in memes and ensures that community communications maintain a TLX standard.
Council Elections occur via 4-month epochs. Whereby every 4 months new council members can be elected and existing council members must be re-elected. There are two steps to the council election process:
Nominations
Council elections commence by first holding nominations. During this time any community member may nominate themselves for a council seat by submitting a proposal for nomination in the #nominations channel on Discord. Once nominations open, community members have 9 days to submit their nomination proposal. After the 9-day nomination period is over, nomination proposals will no longer be accepted and voting will begin on the TLX Snapshot.
Voting
Any user who holds staked or locked TLX can participate in the vote. When voting concludes, the nominated individuals who receive the most voting power will be elected council members. Any individual who posts a nomination proposal (that is not marked spam) will be included in the vote. Council election voting lasts for 9 days.
Users must stake or lock their $TLX before the vote begins in order to participate. Once the Snapshot vote starts, newly staked or locked TLX will not count towards your voting power.
Elections for the Tabby, Ecosystem, and Intern Council will be kicking off this week. An announcement will be made once nominations are open. Once open, anyone will be able to submit a proposal for nomination in the #nominations channel in the TLX Discord.
Council members receive a monthly stipend in $TLX governance tokens. The stipend amount is the same for all Council members regardless of which Council they are in.
