Nine months. How long do you think that is?

Some people don’t have anything new happen during that time, some have families, meet their soul mates, skydive, lose loved ones… I just want to tell you my story of how the past 9 months have changed my life.

I have been familiar with the Waves ecosystem since 2019. It seemed simple and clear to me, and what a price for commissions! Being subscribed to a news channel, I saw the news about the sold “picture” of a duck for 1 million dollars! I couldn’t believe my eyes, I wondered: who would be willing to pay $1 million for a picture? Looking back now, I realize that many people… The most important steps come into our lives unnoticed. That’s how and then I was introduced to one of the best NFT-games of the new decade — Waves Ducks!

The Ducks broke into the NFT-space very timely, treading the first steps in the development of the NFT-industry in Russia. Backed by a strong marketing campaign in the form of rounds and generous handouts of “blue eggs,” the ducks were gaining ground of their own in people’s hearts, and in mine were gradually coming to the forefront.

The ducks didn’t come along right away. First there was faith. The backbone of the community at the very beginning of the project consisted of people who were somehow familiar with the Waves ecosystem. Confidence in the team and openness of the developers — two fundamental factors, thanks to which during the 9 months of the project a strong and friendly community emerged, ready to help and explain all the subtleties of the game to newcomers.

The EGGs price grew by leaps and bounds, conquering new heights, and the lucky winners of the rounds were already getting ready to create their own farms.

I was doing well. The rounds brought generous rewards. Having some kind of capital for a student is very important; it builds self-esteem and distinguishes you from your peers. While everyone was busy turning in their debts, I puzzled over how to come up with a meme that would be funnier than the rest. The start of the duck marketing campaign is probably the best I’ve seen in my 23 years.

The long-awaited day. The launch of the incubator. We were all excited at the time. Even though the “egg” token was already worth a decent amount of money at the time, many players saved their EGGs, preferring to start building their duck empire.

The duck was supposed to cost 10 EGGs per one. But just before the launch, the price was reduced by a factor of 10. Tricky move! The accumulated tokens went into business, the hatchery overheated, unable to produce new batches of Elons and Satoshi. What was I counting on back then? What did I expect to get? I don’t know. But it looked insanely exciting.

Waves blockchain took on new life that day. Literally and figuratively. And I got hope for a unique future.

This was the moment everyone had been waiting for. The ducks began to born eggs.

Before our eyes, everything we had invested — our time, our energy, our patience — was paying off with great speed. The ducks could bring 5–10–20 EGGs a month. We could hatch new ducks or sell EGGs. And it was amazing.

From my first farming EGGs, I was able to go on a little trip around my country. I looked at new places through glasses of gratitude to those who helped me realize my long-held dreams. And it seemed as if everyone had exhaled a little. But there was so much more to see and do ahead of us!

Shortly before the ducks came along, two dear members of my family passed away. My life went into anabiosis, too. It seemed as if everything had stopped, slowed down.

When Waves Ducks came into my life, everything changed. The dust-covered gears started turning again. The world began to take on color. Looking back, I realize it was necessary.

The creative rounds taught me how to work with graphics, video, pumped up my communication and foreign language skills. It’s fun to remember now how we had to understand the Spanish community when we first got into the game. It was very exciting!

The now popular word “metaverse” is not just a word here. After only 9 months of existence, the ducks have managed to surround themselves with many different projects.

Take a look at this picture. A lot of what was just an afterthought at the start is already there. Waves Ducks is developing its little world step by step. By listening to users and considering the opinions of new and experienced players alike.

My opinion is that, at the moment, the game Waves Ducks is severely underrated. Small bugs and flaws blind users to the overall picture of a strong project that has incredible potential to be the best NFT-project in the world.

I am currently writing this article from a new MacBook that I couldn’t even dream of a year ago. I bought it for the comfort of growing a duckling and participating in a new game — MetaRace.

That’s how starting from a sold “picture” you can grow your own world.
