In the world of cryptocurrency, two projects with a focus on zero-knowledge, a cryptographic concept that enables the verification of a statement’s truth without inspecting its actual contents, have announced successful fundraising efforts.
Modulus, a startup aiming to “bring AI on-chain” by harnessing zero-knowledge technology, recently secured $6 million in funding. The funding round, headlined by Variant and 1kx, also received support from Stanford University’s Blockchain Builders Fund. Modulus is positioning itself as a platform that utilizes zero-knowledge proofs to enable AI developers to verify the functionality of their tools without compromising decentralization. The company has disclosed an upcoming partnership with Worldcoin.
In a separate development, Evolution Equity Partners led a $5 million funding round for Toposware, a software development firm based in Boston. Toposware is striving to attract developers with its “zkEcosystem.” Notably, Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon, participated in the funding round. Additionally, Toposware’s advisory council boasts prominent members, including Meta’s director of infrastructure and the global general manager of IBM.
