They're inspiring,
this elderly
couple running
regularly.
When I'm old,
I want to run like they do
Our local park attracts many regulars. And as a regular myself, I regularly encounter them. Not that these people are my friends now, but as a regular you do what regulars do: you greet, you have some small talk, you move on. Still, the other regulars have become a part of my life. Like this elderly couple. She is a bit younger than he is, I think. And they run. Two or three time per week. Together. Well, she always is ahead. Then stops and looks back to see if he's still running. When she spots him, she continues again. I have a deep respect for them. Staying fit in this way. It's hard, but they do it. And that is inspiring. I want to be able to still have the courage to go out and run when I'm well into my seventies. Staying fit.
