Some fun facts about me:
I'm currently a web dev, but soon to be many other types of developer/researcher/designer/artist
I believe that technology is merely a tool, what's more important is the ability to identify real-world problems and provide elegant, creative solutions
I understand that life isn’t a zero-sun game. I’m trying my very best to be useful:
I used to run a cloud service platform selling VPNs to Chinese users to bypass the GFW
My first coding project is a UGC platform that allows users to share poets, art works, fictions and novels
I made three mobile apps for my classmates using a 0-code platform when I was in secondary school
I made two websites for my classmates using Vue, React and PHP when I was in high school, one of them is still used by current students, and the other has dope features like instant messaging (WebSocket), grade report (Ant Charts) and cloud storage etc.
I am currently spending my free time building a podcast hosting platform called Snapod, which has a Node.js backend and Electron desktop client. But I might be moving on to some other exciting new projects soon
I have many other project ideas stored in my Todoist app
I was once one of the main speakers at an online conference on the topic of the future of the Internet
I dabble in the stock market and DeFi:
I have lost a sh*t ton of money in stock markets, ETFs and cryptocurrencies/DeFi
I used to be super addicted to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, now I suck at FPS games because I use an Xbox
I wanted to become a movie director when I was in primary school, and I even shot a short film using a crappy video camera
I am not good at studying. I am not smart, sometimes I can be extremely stupid. But I really, really, really wish to be good at studying so that I can do academic research and publish papers on important topics such as scaling blockchains...
I am trying my very best to be a first principle thinker
I am grateful that you are even reading this...
Truth is, I suck, at everything... But I never stopped learning and improving. I constantly put myself in front of challenges that are harder than anything that I've ever seen before. Even though I'm not always able to solve them at first, I simply do not give up. I mean, you can't be good at something unless you are willing to be sh*t at it first right?
Outside of technology, I'm very passionate about UI designing, investing (equities, cryptocurrencies etc.), startups etc.
Now, it's time for you to reach out to me, and ask me if I want to join you to build things that could potentially change the course of human history
OK, that might be a little too much...
Or is it?
