4 days to forget she has cancer

How our community gave a 29-year-old newlywed a pause button before the hardest fight of her life...

If you ever find yourself at a pub quiz against Elise, you should probably just hand over the prize. She’s 29, fiercely competitive at trivia, deeply passionate about rescuing animals, and has been married to the love of her life for just over a year. She is the kind of person who is always the first to donate and help others.

But recently, Elise's newlywed life was interrupted by a phrase no 29-year-old should ever hear: Stage 2A, Grade 2 Triple-Negative Breast Cancer.

Elise is surrounded by an incredible army of love: her husband, her best friends, and a massive, supportive family. But before the relentless schedule of chemotherapy and surgery begins, Elise needed one specific thing: a deep breath.

She wanted four days at Center Parcs with her loved ones. Four days to just be Elise the newlywed, the animal lover, the trivia champion, not Elise the patient. Four days to laugh, walk in the forest and build up her mental armor before stepping into the toughest fight of her life.

Thanks to our community, our sponsors, our donors, she got exactly that.

How are we supporting warriors like Elise?

We are running a Dream Support Program that provides small grants (up to €500) to cancer patients for the deeply human side of healing, the experiences, comforts and meaningful moments that medicine alone can’t provide.

Because every warrior’s situation is different, we adapt to whatever makes their life easier. Depending on the request, we either provide the exact funds directly to fulfill their specific, approved dream, or we step in to handle all the logistics ourselves.

We listen to each warrior’s unique request, approve it quickly and turn it into reality. Whether it’s a short getaway, a mental health retreat, a wellness kit or attending a survivor summit, our goal is simple. Help warriors press pause, recharge and return to treatment with renewed strength and hope.

In 2026 alone, we’ve already fulfilled 16 dreams and supported 16 warriors. Elise’s Center Parcs trip was one of them.

How sponsors and donors make it possible

None of this happens without our incredible community. Every donation goes directly toward these grants. You, our donors and sponsors are the reason Elise got her four days of uninterrupted laughter and quiet mornings in the forest. Sponsors and partners (including those behind events like the GT Race and TFW ) help us keep the program running and growing so we can say “yes” to more warriors when they need it most.

To our current donors and sponsors, look at the impact you’re making. You are standing right beside Elise in this fight. You are absolute heroes.

If you want to help us give more warriors like Elise a moment to breathe, you can join our mission below.

Born to thrive. 💜
