Aloha, welcome to Uqbar’s weekly rollup. Every Monday we’ll provide you with exciting updates on everything Uqbar: dev reports, media mentions, and general happenings around the Urbit ecosystem.
Uqbar has relaunched its testnet and Development Suite complete with numerous bug fixes and an updated type metaphor scheme. While the IDE is still under active development, you can still download the app from ~dister-dozzod-bacdun (on a moon please!) and start programming Urbit-native smart contracts today!
Justin Murphy (~hastryx-lastud) and Uqbar Content Manager ~bichul-ritsen have begun hosting a weekly Twitter space on all things Urbit and crypto. Join them and other members of the Uqbar team to chat about shitcoin scandals and the latest Urbit apps. Check Twitter for the latest updates, but for now, come hang out every Thursday at 1pm Eastern.
New episode of The Network Age! This week, the boys welcome Roko (~bacsul-lissyl) of Basilisk fame to discuss the FTX collapse, his hopes for Urbit, and how crypto can become more than a scam. The team also dives into the dangers of centralization and censorship (on Twitter and beyond), crowdfunding and dominant assurance contracts, and the optimism of personal AI. All this and more—don't miss it.
Finally, in the crossover event of the century, the Network Age Boys joined Justin Murphy on his acclaimed Other Life podcast to discuss SBF, FTX, and other three-letter acronyms. If you’re still dying for hot scandal content, look no further than this example of hard-hitting, rigorous journalism.
AJ Lamarc (~larryx-woldyr) has created a self-hosted Uniswap frontend for Urbit—distribution coming soon.

Urbit and Encode Club are putting on a hackathon together. This team competition kicks off November 28th and prizes will be announced in January. To find out more, including how to sign up, go to the dedicated page on Encode Club’s site.
Ted Blackman (~rovnys-ricfer), a core dev at Tlon for over 5 years, was recently named CTO of the Urbit Foundation. This means that the Foundation will be more active in Urbit core development. Congratulations to Ted! The Foundation also released a development roadmap aimed at readying Urbit for mass adoption.
And check out this sneak peek at the Cyclopaedia app from Serving the People.
