I've been talking about writing more for literal years, but haven't done it for [reasons].
So it's noteworthy that upon starting only my second post, a pattern emerged.
The original title for this was "On Format & Simulations." I wanted to write about aspect ratios in the context of 'Simulations,' and art project I'm publishing on Zora. Probably one of the few art projects on Zora erc20 version.
I typed the title in and realized my first post, "On Rodeo/New Game," followed a similar structure. I discussed Rodeo, a publishing tool, in the context of 'New Game,' an older art project. I use project loosely; Rodeo was for experiments with pixel art.
Framework: Personal Experience -> Broader Context.
I'm most comfortable talking about visual art right now, but I hope this framework facilitates more writing across different areas of interest.
I didn't intend to write about writing, but going through the process was informative. The next post will actually dive into aspect ratios. Finally.
Until then, here's 'shimmers.'
just edited a paragraph post. cathartic. is a writing habit developing?
i hated myself reading version 1, but i have to accept that part of writing/editing. this is quicker and clearer https://paragraph.xyz/@usersteen/on-writing-and-art-sorta
Oh wow, my second blog post! There are a lot of thoughts I've wanted to share on fc, but writing in threads is actually more annoying than helpful. But paragraph frames are so smooth. I'm thinking about using it more like a long-form writing tool than blogging tool. Please lmk if you found it interesting!
How do you define a long-form writing tool vs a blogging tool?
I think what I really meant is that frames make me feel like warpcast is the destination vs an outside blog. These are thoughts I want to share here primarily vs email or website (though I appreciate that it lives there too). It's like a super thread tool - kind of how typefully made me view twitter differently. except there are no visual limits bc they're webpages instead of pretty threads
I have some additional thoughts on this if you want to hear!
