Ngl I forgot about this, and I'm starting to get tired already.
Since it's technically evening already, I'll summarize what happened yesterday and how today is going. Yesterday was kinda good. I started writing an auction smart contract using the Fund Me smart contract in the Cyfrin course I just finished. A lot of it is still confusing and I'm worried that I'm basically just copying stuff from his contract and using Chat GPT to modify it based on what I think it should have or what's missing. But I really don't get much of this stuff yet and I'm tired of feeling like a fraud. So I guess I'm trusting the process. So far (from yesterday till about 10 mins ago), I've implemented the following functions:
Function to start an auction
Function to bid, which the auction creator cannot call
Function to get the details of an auction including the
auction creator
item name
item ID (which is assigned when an auction is created)
highest bidder on an item
highest bid amount on an item
number of bidders an item has
the time the auction will end
Now I'm trying to figure out how to end the function. I want it to end automatically once it has reached the time it's supposed to end. I hope I figure that out today. I keep wondering if it's okay that it took me two days to do this even with the help of an AI. I don't really care if I'm slow to learn this stuff, I have time, I just really want to understand it, and so far I'm not but I'll keep trying.
I want to make friends in the web3 space. I'm very awkward in group chats, even when I'm on burner accounts, but yeah I want to make friends fr so I'll try again to interact with more people online.
I had bread and Nutella yesterday, I was so happy. Bread is top tier man. Do you remember the StackUp quest I said I missed? Turns out somebody helped me solve my error, and because I didn't check Discord till yesterday, I missed out on two quests. On the bright side, there's a bounty coming up soon and I intend to participate. Let's put these skills to good use lol.
I think it's the idea of writing this that tires me because a few minutes after I start, I stop feeling tired. It's also usually like this to do a bunch of other stuff, especially stuff I consider difficult or am anxious about. How do I get myself to want to attempt hard things? or calm down enough to resolve said hard things. It’s so noisy in my head all the time. Maybe this is why coding has been so difficult to pick up. Hopefully, this time will be different. I have a great apartment and constant electricity, I’m dedicated and practically have everything I need to succeed this time. I hope I do.
