Layer zero guide

Here is a short guide how to get started with Layer Zero cross-chain swaps and get 10+ transactions on Layer Zero bridges. Of course, you can use other bridges (like Aptos bridges and BTC bridges), but this guide describes very basic and time/cost effective route.

We will be starting with Arbitrum network, and I assume that you have assets on Arbitrum to start with

А) Start with bridging some of the ETH to Optimism with a Layer Zero powered bridge

B) Follow up by bridging some USDC from Arbitrum to Optimism via Stargate bridge

https://stargate.finance/transfer

C) Let’s use Stargate bridge once again to bridge USDC from Optimism to Polygon.

HINT: if you don’t have MATIC on Polyhon to cover fees, you can use Bungee refuel tool:

https://www.bungee.exchange/refuel

D) Now when we have MATIC and USDC on Polygon, let’s create some NFTs on Holograph

https://app.holograph.xyz/

Hit “Create collection” (I created a collection of 3 NFTs). After you deployed the collection, hit “Mint” for each NFT individually to mint them on Polygon

Select you collection, choose deploy, switch to Avalanche and deploy it there! (if you don’t have AVAX for fees, you can also use Bungee refuel).

After NFTs are minted (it can take some time) bridge your NFTs from Polygon to Avalanche here

E) Let’s use OmniBTC bridge again to send you USDC from Polygon back to Arbitrum

  1. The last bridge we will use for this guide is ETH Goerli Bridge. Since they recently launched on Arbitrum, it is now quite cheap to buy Goerly ETH for your future testnets.

That’s it! I really tried to keep it simple and cost effective. You can do a few rounds within a few weeks to have repeated activity.

An interesting fact about Arbitrum airdrop: among all 625k addresses approved for the Airdrop, 20% of them (112k) have no transactions on ETH Mainnet :)
