zkSync is a L2 robust protocol that uses zero knowledge (zero-knowledge proof) technology to validate and enable scalable and low-cost transactions on Ethereum. Since all transactions on the Ethereum main chain are confirmed, users enjoy the same level of security as on Ethereum.
zkSync is implemented and works like Ethereum, but with much lower fees. Like Ethereum, smart contracts are written in the Solidity/Vyper programming language and can be compatible with other EVM chains.
zkSync as zk rollup develops Ethereum scaling — a decentralized application developed by Matter Labs — founded in 2019 and based in Berlin, Germany.
