About Web3 Learning Collaborative

Web3 is emerging before our eyes. Could it help us build a strong democracy and a fair economy? Does the citizen sector understand what blockchain, tokens, NFTs and the likes are all about? While web3 promises a future of decentralization, it is largely being built, understood, and used by technologists who are not necessarily experts of the society they are coding for. Let’s change that – and bring the civic sector in!

We - Ashoka and the Mutualist Society - are convening a learning journey for social entrepreneurs, mutualists, Web3 builders and influencers. These are the questions that move us:

  • Can Web3 encourage new forms of ownership, and bring more prosperity to communities?

  • Can it help decentralize power, increase accountability, and boost participation?

  • Can it help us organize in new ways?

  • Can it help us build new mutualist institutions?

  • How can we our experiences advance the conversation on governance and values? How can we critique and collaborate?

You’re among a select group of people in our network that we are reaching out to as we embark on an open ended learning journey.

If you’re curious and want to explore forming part of a web3 collaborative, you can sign up here to get invited to the kick-off session, that will be followed by a series of hands-on zoom sessions. Starting in February, we plan to get together twice a month to learn, explore, build and critique web3 tools, in a quest to build a strong democracy, a fair economy, and a world where technology works for humanity.
