On August 5, Offchain Labs, the developer of Arbitrum, an ethereum scaling solution, announced that the Arbitrum One mainnet will be migrated to Nitro on August 31, which marks the one-year anniversary of the Arbitrum One public beta. Offchain Labs said that a shadow fork will be performed a week before the mainnet migration, on August 24, as a test. The update is said to further reduce the amount of data posted to Layer1 and lower the transaction costs of Arbitrum.
