About a month ago I overcame all my concerns, doubts and fears and started publishing the generative abstract artwork I’d been working on for years using python and p5.js. I chose hicetnunc mainly because I loved the art that was already there. At that time I couldn’t imagine how special it would become over time.
My genesis piece 0x0: motherboard crime on random access memory operations is an abrupt and unexpected output of one of the scripts that tried to decompose basic colours (black, white & red) and fit it into basic shapes (squares, triangles and circles).

Sometimes randomness winks at you generating amazing results. This triggered my interest on publishing my art, and I can’t imagine a better outcome. I learnt a lot of new stuff, met new friends, collected outstanding work from other artists, traded some pieces and got this strong sense of belonging to a movement that’s doing good things to change the status quo of art.
It’s a bit emotional because everything sold out really fast, something I never imagined that will happen. Million thanks to all the people that made the step of collecting, specially first pieces, the ones that really are tough calls due to the lack of previous history of an artist.
We’re just getting started, and we’re here for the long run. And yes, I keep saying “we” because it is this community who makes it possible.

Cheers to keep learning, to keep creating, to keep collecting. Motivation is really high. Expectations are really high. I am, above all, a creator. One way or another I will keep creating forever.
