Hey there!
In this little entry we wanted to share our experience of creating logos using DALL·E 2, an OpenAI system that generates digital images from natural language description.
While we were thinking of an idea for a logo for our own company we decided to give AI systems a try. We wanted to see what are the possible ways to picture Yggdrasil - an immense and central sacred tree around which exists everything else in Nordic mythology.
We’ve used several prompts, aka verbal descriptions of what we expect to see.
Here are some of the results:
Prompt: An immense and central sacred tree of digital world as logotype

Prompt: An immense central sacred tree of digital world as a logotype in the style of Andy Warhol

Prompt: A branch of digital world tree as a logotype

Some of the results seemed a bit strange at first glance, however, we were looking for concepts and ideas rather than a finished piece of art, so these results were exactly what we needed. We chose one of the concepts and our designer redrew it from a scratch the way we wanted it to be.
Have a look at the process. You can see the inspo created by DALL·E 2 on the left, and various designs made manually on the right.

And here is the final result.

Working on another project we thought - what if we use DALL·E 2 only to create a finished logo. That was a new curious challenge for us, because this time every detail of a generated image had to be perfect.
Firstly, we were looking for the vision, we made multiple various prompts and many queries later, appeared the design we decided to further work on.

Prompt: golden feather on a dark background

The image made by DALL·E 2 was not a complete feather we needed, but that is not a problem when using an AI, we just generated the needed parts and the logo was ready.

That’s it for now! Stay tuned! More curious entries about AI are yet to come!
