Dopamine Bridge!

When we binge-watch Netflix, we get a drug-like high because our brain release Dopamine!

When we are gaming, we get so many instant rewards; there is a hyperarousal associated with, guess what, Dopamine!

The same thing happens when we are using Tinder, and we receive the notification of a match or a message on bumble - Dopamine Rush! Reward and cues to reward!

Similarly, with gambling apps or fantasy apps like Dream11 or real-money eSports like PlayMPL, Users get instant rewards and get hooked!

More than the reward itself, we get more rush by the anticipation of prizes, and when rewards fulfill the expectation, we get hooked to anticipation! That's why we get hooked on notifications!

Let's go to the other side of the bridge. Let's take learning as an example. When we study for a day, we anticipate instant results but don't get them. We come back the next day, still expecting quick results. But learning is challenging. Hence low Dopamine!

Another such activity is going to the gym. When we can lift some weights, we get happy. But when we stand in front of the mirror, we anticipate a change! But it takes weeks to see visible changes. The anticipation of quick results just does not get fulfilled, hence low Dopamine!

Let's call high dopamine activities "pull" and low Dopamine ones "push" activities.

Is there a way to capture some dopamine from pull activities and transfer it to push activities?

We at Sporty are trying to capture this Dopamine in the form of Sporty tokens and pass it to push activities via Dopamine Bridge!
