Laojun Mountain is now a world geological park, a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, a national geological park, a national nature reserve, a provincial key cultural relics protection unit, a provincial scenic spot, a holy place for Taoist believers in northern China, and an outstanding representative of the Central Plains landscape culture.
In 2014, Laojunshan Laozi's bronze statue was recorded by the World Guinness headquarters as "the highest Guinness in the world - the world's tallest Laozi bronze statue". [5] It is also a popular location for contemporary Xianxia film and television dramas. "Zhu Xian·Qingyunzhi" and "The Legend of Heavenly Emperor" have all been filmed here. [4]
On May 14, 2022, the sea of ​​clouds landscape in Laojun Mountain Scenic Area was selected as one of the first "weather and climate landscape viewing spots" in China.
