Marketplace History

‘Kane’ was the original developer for the CryptoZunks project, roughly around December 2021 he stated that they were building a marketplace specifically for the project where holders would save money through cheaper transaction costs. This was the first and only planned development that Kane had agreed to develop for the CryptoZunks. Unfortunately, this marketplace was never built and Kane vanished in March 2022 without actually producing anything that was promised including a Zunkz marketplace.

Today the CryptoZunks have been rebranded to the Zunkz and are working on bringing the community valuable tools and unique experiences through new developments for the project.  One of the first additions made to the project was partnering with Origin Protocol to bring Zunkz their own unique marketplace.

The new Zunkz marketplace brings together all the listings from X2Y2, LooksRare, and OpenSea, while also providing the rarity rankings for each Zunk and Zpet.

This marketplace is dynamic with minimal latency, allowing for smooth navigation without having any bugs.

Thanks to this marketplace, in one click you can switch between the main Zunkz collection and the companion collection Zpets. The rarity for both collections is available but be aware that the mint is still in progress for the Zpets which means that the rarity you will see for them may change as the mint goes on.

One of the beneficial features of this marketplace for the Zunkz project is that the typical service fee of 2.5% is now split between Origin and Zunkz at 1.25% each. This benefits the project with an additional 1.25% on royalties at no additional cost.

Another unique feature of the marketplace is that as a Zunkz holder you can sign into your wallet and see all your Zunkz and all of your Zunkz-related activity shown below.

The future.

We believe that this marketplace is a great addition to the Zunkz project by bringing both the Zunkz and Zpets together, implementing rarity scores, and providing activity tracking for the holders. This is a very exciting implementation and just the beginning as it will only keep getting better as Origin continues to implement useful tools for the marketplace.
