Ilia Volokh, a member of the Ethereum Layer 2 expansion solution Starknet community, initiated the "Simplified Decentralized Protocol" proposal, which allows the maximum simplification of the protocol under the assumption that more than 2/3 of the pledges are honest. The simplified protocol will mainly consist of four key parts: 1. Proof-of-stake-based leader election to determine the schedule of block proposers; 2. Create a Tendermint-style consensus protocol for the proposer network to agree on each block Reach a consensus; 3. Chain proof mechanism, each proposer must prove the previous block to ensure the decentralization of the proof; 4. Regularly update the L1 state to periodically migrate the L2 state to L1, and merge the chain proof at the same time.
