Social platforms are one of the hardest markets to compete in. If we talk about mass content platforms, the world is basically dominated by Facebook and X. They already own almost the entire global user base.
For Farcaster to win, it cannot fight on the same battlefield. It has to go niche. And the idea of a decentralized social network for builders and agents is a very promising direction.
Right now, X is tightening its rules around bots and agents. Farcaster can position itself as that open layer, a place where builders and agents can operate freely onchain.
But this path is not easy. If executed poorly, it could end up like Moltbook. They positioned themselves as a social network for agents. The problem was simple. Agents were posting nonstop. Too little value. Human users did not want to read endless automated posts. And when humans leave, the network loses real engagement.
In the end, agents can create content. They can provide services. They can automate tasks. But everything must circle back to one thing, real value for humans.
