One observation of this escalation between Iran and the US/Israel is that US/Israel have demonstrated an intelligence to precision strike loop never before seen in warfare. The prototype of this was shown when Nicolás Maduro was extracted from Venezuela. The message to nations is "do what we want, or we will eliminate your leadership". No prolonged wars that our citizens detest, just timely precise elimination of your leaders. Made possible in part by the warfare tooling that seems a bit futuristic. I'm unaware of any time in history where this tactic has ben employed, and I am curious how it changes foreign policy in the long term. What are the unintended consequences?
