I personally want Farcaster to have more people, BUT I also want the culture to remain healthy. It's difficult to maintain a healthy culture once you reach a certain threshold of people, so I totally get the argument for keeping it small.
This is why I've been pushing for the return of channels and development of onchain communities. If we can give users the ability to create and moderate their own personal communities to their liking, we can continue to foster healthy cultures while also accommodating more people on the network. I think that would be the best possible solution to this.
