We've just had a local election in the UK which was essentially the litmus test to see if the left party could win against the centrist and far right party, and we won. The left won by a significant vote. They campaigned on a message of hope, with words that countered the usual establishment anti-migrant rhetoric, without billionaire donors and with grass roots activism. And we won! I cannot express the hope I feel for my country hearing this this morning.
