Ramadan is not like Lent in that you don’t pick things to fast from—the goal of the fast is to refrain from al bad things even down to your own negative thoughts.
Mindfulness and moderation are core to how we approach fasting (at least what I feel). If you overeat you tend to have a worse experience over the day (be moderate). When you allow one negative thought to enter your mind like how I tend to road rage at people who can’t drive, those thoughts compound and contribute to attracting more chaos (be mindful).
