Fogo is 100% SVM compatible. So... why build a new L1?
Why
@fogochain, when it’s SVM compatible? Co-founder Doug Colkitt compares building on
@solana to "driving a Ferrari in NYC traffic."
The "Ferrari" is Firedancer (Jump's high-performance client), but on Solana, its speed is bottlenecked by diverse, slower validator clients (the "traffic").
@fogochain is the "racetrack" — a new L1 running only optimized Firedancer clients. This is economically enforced. The 40ms block time (25 blocks/sec) is too fast for slow hardware. Validators who miss blocks lose revenue and are ejected.
This creates a "Curated Validator Set" where only the fastest survive, guaranteeing performance. It's the SVM unleashed: all Solana dApps and infra (
@pythnetwork,
@wormhole) can migrate and run 10x faster.
