The way Silicon Valley elites (many members of which used to be my personal heroes in the 90s, early 00s) have failed me miserably. Even the promise of the SV culture (build your idea, work hard, become successful and wealthy and you will be free to live your life, do the things you want to do, say what you want to say) seems to be fake. For people whop are some the richest persons in the world, who have nothing to fear, who even if they lost 90% of their wealth they would still be rich, who used to advocate for freedom and democracy and empowering people all around the world... How can you support and stay silent when democracy becomes autocracy? Are they just damaged goods? Are they more afraid to speak and act than the regular person on the street?
