A mixed media palimpsest in which a recognizable figure emerges through layers of urban decay.
This artwork is a study of the thin veil between life and death, and a nod in the direction of La Catrina. Originally a 19th-century social critique of bourgeois society, the character has evolved from a satirical portrait into the iconic symbol of the Día de los Muertos.
