24 hours into fruitling valley and really enjoying the vibe
a few of my favorite things:
- positioning sponsored transactions as “free actions” which sounds exactly like energy in any other game
- animation easter eggs when interacting with npcs and environment
- rng transparency which allows players to make more calculated decisions
a few things id improve:
- trees and log harvesting mechanics; how much can you harvest in one cycle / you need a melon to do this
- reduce animations to improve phone battery life since this is quite taxing on mobile
- improve suggestions which feel a bit off since some things are gated behind town hall level or needing logs
a few other considerations:
- a limited supply of monthly subscription that give people extra gems + free actions (similar to what you see lots of gacha games)
- random harvest boosts during a set day of the week, so people don’t know what time but know the day to drive a little anticipation
- lowering free actions a bit to make min/maxing a bit more challenging with only free actions
