Very snowy ❄️ couple of days. But the good news is the days are getting a bit longer and we’re back to catching a few rays of the sun☀️. I just got to enjoy 2 cups of coffee ☕️ on deck. Worth the shoveling.

I didn’t really understand the appeal of personal, single-purpose apps when they were mentioned in the AI discussion.
Then, Replit built a climate (mostly moisture) tracker for our ship. It uses an API for weather data, readings from my dehumidifier, and manual input for our perceived condensation on cold surfaces, among other things. It’s incredibly useful and cool. I also included an AI chatbox that I can use to ask questions about our microclimate here, and it provides very specific tips and to-dos.
It’s even more impressive that I was able to do this on the free Replit tier.
Been working on our heating system in the past few days. Had to race around the county to get some parts for maintenance. Got it all mostly sorted now, going to have a proper tech come over for some fine tuning and emission optimization.
Also got my backup diesel heating system set up and fully function (running some air ducks and getting a separate diesel tank sorted).
With our main Kabola and backup eberspacher we should be sorted for the cold now.
One is none
Tried to install/create a workspace next to my captains chair on the boat this week. Spend a lot of time preparing. Bought a nice and relative high end solution in the for of lagun table legs. Failed miserably in the end, need to reconsider and go back to drawing board.
This morning our central heating system (diesel burner feeding radiators with hot water) failed unexpectedly. Without any prep I started googling and trying things. Took it apart and put it back together. Working again now. While successful it doesn’t feel sustainable nor reliable. Going to be planning a service appointment with the company (Kabola) tomorrow.
