Unfortunately, Trump must accept that he cannot dominate the internal affairs of entire countries by starting long wars and endangering the interests of neighboring nations. Launching attacks on oil refineries and other critical infrastructure under the name of “help,” especially facilities that provide essential services to people after a revolution, is reckless. It only sets countries back in the long run.
In war, it is natural that military, defense, and security centers may become targets. However, sufficient care must always be taken to minimize civilian casualties. I don’t know much about politics, but it clearly carries enormous risk for the entire region if you start a war in the name of helping a country’s citizens in order to “save” them.
Unfortunately, after all these years, Hamas has not been eliminated despite being right next to Israel, and the people of Lebanon have suffered displacement for years without being truly rescued. For Iran—whose scale and complexity are much larger than what we see on the map—the situation could be even more difficult.
So what is your opinion? Will Iran reduce its leverage, or will Israel and the United States? If the U.S., despite enormous war costs and geopolitical risks, cannot gain control over the Strait of Hormuz, then aside from targeting their leadership, has it really achieved any meaningful success?
Was Trump’s main goal simply to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities, and does he believe he has completely eliminated them now? Previously he said the goal was to save the Iranian people. But by destroying refineries, commercial centers, and administrative facilities, and by increasing sanctions, the cost of living has risen and the pressure on ordinary Iranian people has grown even more—effectively threatening their lives with greater hardship.
