there are no low blocks in europe anymore man. every game is an end-to-end banger at the moment.
atletico madrid used to be the one team you could rely on to play a low block and defend deep even in the champions league. but we don't do that anymore.
reputation lags reality.
people keep putting simeone in haramball conversations, meanwhile we currently play like liverpool in klopp's early days.
so much verticality, so much of an emphasis on attacking as quickly as possible, no sense of tempo control, so much running, so much movement.
it's enjoyable to watch, but i don't think it's sustainable. even klopp had to work on controlling games at some point.
