My mind broke the day I realised anyone can write books.
Non experts write books, kids can write books, misogynists can write books and change history and so on.
Itβs a great thing that people have access to this opportunity which always felt like a privilege to some.
My favourite books for artists written by artists ranked:
4. The Creative Act- Rick Rubin - more his thoughts, but still resourceful.
3. Steal like an Artist - Austin Kleon - first one I read in this list, so affirming for real as an artist
2. The Artist's Way - Juila Cameron - hard to follow the weekly tasks for me but still loved it, healing.
1. We need your art - Amie McNee - loved it, so well put, so much value, most aligning for me.
What's you favourite, give me recs!
βArtists are not meant to be realistic. Reality isβ¦eh. You are building a world far better than reality with your art. Your job is to make the unrealistic realistic.β - Amie McNee , We Need Your Art
This was cathartic to read. I've always found people who called themselves "realists" and it bugged me. It made me question why they couldn't see the power they had to change things. Gives me an opportunity to show what I learnt and help them realise their power.

Hi I'm Ethra and I am listing my daily creative work as NFT.
today's day 3 and I ended up making this: https://opensea.io/item/ethereum/0x4abcb8e36e7d752a35405644bee223fb55fb1013/3
This month reading books - "the creative act - Rick Rubin" with @higherzip.eth fam and "We need your art - Amie McNee". And these books have given me a revelation around my creative work and artist life - I can't expect it to look like anyone else's. This feels like freedom from inner critic that says I need to work hard when my energy levels are super fluctuating.
You can support my work with purchasing these NFTs.
Love. π
Hi I'm Ethra and I'm making my dream magazine.
Have decided on creating different editions for art, apps and more. The current one is for Art in Farcaster ecosystem, featuring projects I felt were cool, innovative or creating spark of joys.
WIP below. available soon as mini-app.

Doxxing myself in cycles.
Before and after going to a fest. Ate all my lipstick away.
Look at me like my sisterβs pug looks at me. (Heβs actually worried here I will take away his bed).
So, when I first saw Corners, I resonated with the idea of curation spaces. And after building Curio, this seems like a different idea which is worth looking into.
If you love leftfield electronic music, I welcome you to join this corner, we can make a cool perpetual playlist. And never feel like you can't find cool leftfield music.
Hi I'm Ethra. I vibecode apps I dream up and I work on multiple projects at the same time.
The one I want to talk about now is a Magazine inspired by the ones I used to read when traveling via train in India. They talked about new and fancy tech and it was always fun to learn about them.
So, I'm making Ethra-zine (tentative name), where I talk about cool stuff people are making across the internet.
Here's the first look:
I hate Notion and every notes app out there.
I hate that all my stuff is spread over different things - my notebook, apple notes, notion, obsidian. but I love processing my thoughts and emotions by writing.
I thought with ai this problem will be solved, and i know it will, but its taking some time.
Till then, I am building my own system and you are welcome to try.
There's a twist tho, it's a quest based app. you get XP! for reaching your goals. I am thinking of more utility for that, token? but later.
