This weekend some buddies and I played Northwoods Black, the hardest disc golf course on the planet. I shot a +25! It was a wild experience, for sure. The course feels fair, but very very hard. You're walking up some fairways after throwing 2-3 perfect shots and still not seeing baskets on par 4's. Coverage makes it look much MUCH shorter than it actually is irl. I wouldn't say that I feel the need to play it again, exactly. It's a mentally and physically exhausting course for sure. If you're ever off the fairway you're taking a bogey/double/triple, nearly guaranteed.
I would like to give a shoutout to the viral tiktok pasta recipe that my wife and I still make years later. One block of feta, cherry tomatoes, olive oil, italian seasoning, salt, pepper, chili flakes. Roast until everything has some color. Dump everything in with some cooked pasta and a bit of reserved pasta water. Mix like a mf. Super easy, tastes amazing.
went on a massive win streak over the last few days. Perhaps we've unlocked something? 1926 in the rapid pool. What do I do when I finally hit 2k? just quit? LOL
I have this kind of pet theory that I've been working on. It's that many (most? all?) companies eventually need to become media companies. That to reach the next level of customer acquisition, profit, whatever, that things tend to push companies into creating a system that creates good valuable content (a dirty word that could be replaced with 'valuable free things') for it's end users. So that the focus of the company switches from purely fulfilling their service to something more like 40% creating valuable free things that it's target audience loves, and 60% fulfilling their intended service.
I have been studying knots for a little bit. I don't really know why. My guess is that it sort of tickles this spot of "things that I think people should know" Anyway, here's one of my favorites: the sheet bend. https://knotspedia.com/sheet-bend/ It can be used to tie two lines of the same or differing sizes together. It has been found on neolithic tools, and has nautical origins. If the eye of a sail has been torn out, you can fold the corner of the sail and tie the sheet bend knot to that corner.
Played Rollin Ridge FPO layout last night-- same as what was played in the USWDGC. I shot +10 and felt like I was having an amazing round. Massive amounts of respect to the ladies who carded -8 and -7. Absolutely punishing, especially from the black tees, forces you to drive well and scramble well. cc @banta
Unfortunately (because I don't bike very often) somebody seems to have stolen my bike from the apartment's basement. RIP Snap-On Promotional bicycle from the mid 2000's. You were a good bike.
First few days in the new house. It's interesting the stuff you find that you want to change to make it your own. This drawer doesn't close quite right? Well, put it on the list. Sink looks weird? Home Depot is close and youtube exists... Looking forward to doing some cool stuff!
I haven't posted here much recently because I've been getting my absolute shit rocked by home improvement tasks. Here's the results (home improvement pros please be gentle I am fragile and weak):
Chess update: back to 1800. We did our usual tilt down 200 points but we're back baby. I think we're slowly getting the tilt sesh's under control. Only one way to find out!
