Well... I have a new phone.
Changing over all my crypto apps to the new phone has been a nightmare, ngl.
I was hoping that the automatic "device storage transfer" Verizon uses to transfer our apps would also magically port over my logins and encrypted phrases (hah whut??)
I honestly dunno how it works for mobile. I just know:
"New device = new logins = new keys"
Which means... what happens to my farcaster and base apps???
I have the recovery phrases, but
1) it doesnt count for smart wallets
2) Farcaster still needs to review my recovery request which may take 72 hours...
Look, I'm all about privacy and security, but is there really no better way?
Tell me someone figured it out or is at least working on it.
At minimum, I was hoping the recovery phrases would be enough, but even then, I'm getting blocked.
This isn't the type of "ownership" I was hoping for. 😅😭
How am I a web3 dev if I can't figure out how to link my wallet addresses to my @ensdomains name??
It won't give me another ETH Address option, which is understandable. But... But then how do I prove myself in @talent if my addresses aren't synced?
I didn't want them synced to begin with, which is why my work is scattered.
We need to rethink this sh-- using ZK-proofs... 🫠😭
Anyone else feeling a little overwhelmed by all these social apps and pressure posting? Thinking I should touch grass, lock in build, and come back in about another month to catchup with ya'll again. Info overload and not enough shipping. I think I'm catching builder's FOMO.
Are buyable posts actually valuable?
Base posts are ERC-20 tokens: you can purchase the same post as others and its value goes up with more purchases made.
However, like meme coins, majority holders/owners can cash out their portion for profit.
You still have your portion of the token, but its trading value drops.
Base mitigates rugs by adding liquidity limits. I'm guessing the limits are so high no one should be able to sell the posts.
But if the post value is purely symbolic, why collect? You buy to "support" the creator, but they cannot cash out due to liquidity limits. So, why purchase a post everyone else can purchase as well?
Perhaps posts should be an NFT only one person can own, rather than an ERC-20 everyone can have?
Unless the post itself is meant to create value, such that all holders are given some sort of utility.
Can we pull holders data from these posts though?
I think the biggest question is if creators can cash out profits. 🤔
Curious, anyone know how our Base post purchase value is calculated? Is it by views? Likes? Market price conditions? Some of my older posts are worth more, which is interesting. 🤔
Sent my first feedback for @baseapp.base.eth today. I wonder if these improve my builder score. Or just github contributions? I hope so. Easy way to improve the app, show support, and prove activity. 👍🙏🏻💙
