This video nearly brought me to tears thinking about how much better all our lives could be if we set up systems that rewarded cooperation over competition...
Hey everyone!
The new Hunt Town Co-Op app that launched an hour ago is incredible.
You can use the Hunt Town NFTs you've been accumulating the last few months to back various projects... and then you can receive tokens based on that backing.
If you're building a project, you can get continuous financial, emotionally and marketing support from your backers.
The tokenomics are super impressive. I've been pouring over it since it launched and it seems to be brilliant.
Put your NFTs to work!

I really liked this video about the rational risks (economic, health, security, etc) about climate change. It's specifically about the UK, but the risks are all present for every country.
Global Heating is going to affect yours and your loved ones future more than anything else, so being informed about the risks is an incredible investment of your time, so you can make good decisions.

My Sunday morning musings are that billionaires are very aware how dangerous climate change is over the next few decades so they're pumping everything into AI and robotics so that they'll have workers that cannot mutiny growing food and protecting resources in their underground compounds.
I think everyone voting age in the US that didn't vote or voted for Trump will have to reckon with the fact that the GOP will make things dramatically worse for the American people, the American economy and for the world's atmosphere.... purely for the benefit of a couple of hundred people.

I don't doubt all of this is true for Joan, an excellent writer, but in my experience it's really hard to get very niche jobs in tech without your network. A lot of roles simply aren't openly advertised and if you do find out about a role, you can't get an interview unless someone vouches for you.
It sucks, but I get it, some things are too niche.
Trump is apparently sending troops into Portland, Oregon because people have been protesting the ICE facility there.
I imagine they're looking for a fight so they can intimidate a city that overwhelmingly did not vote for Trump.
I imagine if Trump can get the footage he wants of violent clashes then he'll do the same to other blue cities.
Stay safe everyone!
My state has a public holiday today for a parade of football players that will be playing tomorrow in the Grand Final.
I've never experienced this public holiday before because it started while I was oversees, but it's the greatest reason I've ever heard of for everyone to take the day off.
I have a super unpopular opinion to share...
I just don't think GenAI is going to have that big of an impact.
I don't think it's going to be able to get precise enough to be useful in a lot of business applications, and I'm not sure the cost savings for business applications that don't require precision outweigh the training costs of LLMs.
To get more precise they have to train with more data but training with more data is more expensive (in compute, but also licensing, legal, regulations, etc) and I'm just not confident GenAI can get precise enough cheaply enough.
I found an interesting thing:
on farcaster, animals like quoting people and repeating the text in our native language but not their native language, which is really nice of them.
