Proud to call Owen a friend. He’s running to become Maine’s next governor and is taking the time to dive deep on crypto.
He’s able to see past the damaging headlines about how crypto’s been used for illicit activities and understand how technological innovation can create new opportunities for economic development in states like Maine.
The stablecoin infra convo is missing a key piece: fast finality
Multi-chain deployment is important, but w/out fast finality for chains, users wait >12mins to move stables where they’re needed.
That’s not programmable money. It just replicates TradFi’s siloed funds onchain.
Solutions like intents improve UX, but they don't solve the underlying fragmentation caused by Ethereum's slow finality.
Intents just shift risk from users to solvers, who compete on their risk tolerance. Someone is still either waiting 12+ mins or trusting a single sequencer.
We shipped something recently I’m excited about.
The first one-click crosschain NFT mint. Pay on one chain, mint on another. No bridging. No gas. No dust. No friction. Powered by @espressosys
2021 me would be stunned.
This mint lets pay with funds on RARI Chain to buy an NFT on ApeChain. The bridgeless minting is possible because both rollups use Espresso as a base layer.
Excited to see @l2beat diving into interop. I’m tired of people assuming every project claiming to tackle interop is created equal. Hopefully L2Beat can bring some clarity to the space and set the record straight.
thanks to @limone.eth and @urbe-eth for hosting tonight’s Farcaster meetup in Buenos Aires. i failed to take any pics, so settle for the POAP.
haven’t been as active here as I used to be, but it was great getting to see lots of old (in crypto years 😂) friends.
packed my son’s lunch box today.
i often will write short notes or famous quotes, but we share a love of games, including chess, so thought I’d try something different today.
I like to picture him finding my notes and getting excited while he’s at school.
Chapman is having an epic season as the Red Sox’s closer. His ERA is near 1 and he’s given up zero hits in his last 16 appearances. Psyched he’s opted to extend his stay in Boston.
Today @standwithcrypto hosts its first-ever Crypto Day of Action to bring people together to push for common-sense crypto policy.
Politicians will regulate out of fear if they don't understand something. Take action to ensure they hear from real people, not headlines:

my nine-year-old son couldn’t fall asleep last night, so we played a few games of chess to quiet his over-active mind.
this morning, he wanted to keep playing. but i was making lunches for him & his brother, so i set him up with Capablanca’s Best Chess Endings and he had a blast playing through a game by himself.
