Life is actually great without social media.
I logged out of twitter 10 days ago, and haven't posted or read my timeline since. Same with FC.
Which brings down the number of social media I use to 0, and honestly it's been a blessing. not having the notifications and the information overload from TL is a real blessing.
since january 1 2025 I've been posting practically every single day, so this break feels even better.
I will get back to twitter, since I will need it for work and career, but I will put a meaningfull amount of effort to minimize the adverse affect of it, by setting time blocks during which I am allowed to check notifications.
the power assymetry between apps and users is insane.
mobile apps get so much data on each user, from contacts to device and ad identifiers that it's legit scary, because you can't do anything about it.
and all these data can and WILL be leaked

you literally have no choice as a user of what OS you can use.
- windows is a clunky spyware that keeps breaking down
- linex is too much of a headache and security for crypto is questionable if you aren't pro (I'm not at all and I don't want to spend my precious life on downloading drivers and checking their source codes)
- MacOS is closed coded garbage that I hate and you can't run anything heavier than final cut on it (otherwise MacBooks are great)

gemini might have the biggest context window, and it can be great for research, video summaries, online browsing etc.
but chatting with it just sucks. as a chatbot it's still terrible. chatGPT is still the absolute best, and gemini is worse than anything I have tried.
every time you try to plan a hang out, or a date, it feels like planning a meeting between presidents.
why is everyone so busy ffs, am I the only one with enough time, or am I the only one who really wants to meet.
