I was getting slowed creating/playing/tweaking MIDI via the Remix MCP. So I decided to skip that mud pit and build an audio engine using Zig. Zig is a great choice when you need to do native, compute-heavy, self-contained C-level work that doesn't need a big ecosystem. Audio, video, GPT, crypto..

Turns out it was Opus 4.6 in fast mode. This will be useful for root cause analysis/must-fix patches when things fail/deep stack investigations.
