I've had this idea to make generative packaging in my head for a while, but everytime I try to finish it, I get stuck on something else then completely forget! This week I gave myself 3 days to build and deploy a project.
The concept is pretty simple; the algorithm is very expressive with 100% control of the colours and pattern composition left to random.
I've been enjoying a lot of recent works by Anna Lucia, pixelfool and of course Linda Dounia's "Le Bouquet". I wanted have a go at generative pixel art myself but with my own twist whilst also challenging myself technically.
The project is written in javascript with p5 & three.js, I did some brief work with blender to animate the box etc - hated it but im better than i was yesterday!
The whole minting kills thing? I dunno - felt like a good idea, I quite like the whole "we'll tell you everything that could possibly go wrong but you'll do it anyway" vibe that cig packets have. It kinda reminds me the crypto space as of late - ha!
